আমার যা মনে হয়- তুমি ব্রাহ্মণ আর আমি শূদ্র আমার দিকে তাকালেও যে অধর্মের শামিল! তাই উপেক্ষায় বাধ্য হয়েছ তুমি। আমিও আর তোমার নজর চাই না কথা চাই না,স্পর্শ চাই না। খোদার দয়ার ব্যাপারে নিরাশ হতে নেই। তবে আমি সত্যিই চাই না খোদা আমাকে এই দয়া করুন যে আমি তোমাকে পেয়ে যাই। বিশ্বাস করো সত্যিই চাই না। আমিও জানি একটা ভিক্ষুক কেও উপেক্ষা করতে অনেক ইতস্তত বোধ হয়। আমি ও আর তোমার ইতস্তত বোধের কারণ হবো না। আমি চলে যাচ্ছি,তুমি যদি চাও এই খুশিতে রাজভোজের আয়োজন করো! যা মনে হয়- একদিন যদি তুমি বাড়িতে থাকো, হঠাৎ মসজিদের মাইকে আওয়াজ শুনবে,আমি চলে গেছি পরপাড়ে! সেদিন হয়ত তুমি একটু কষ্টের আচ অনুভব করবে। কিংবা প্রফুল্ল চিত্তে মেতে উঠবে আনন্দ নৃত্যে!

Translation (English)

What I feel is— You are a Brahmin and I am a Shudra Even looking at me is considered a sin! So you are forced to ignore me. I no longer want your attention I don't want words, I don't want touch. One should not despair of God's mercy. But I truly do not want God to grant me the mercy That I should get you. Believe me, I truly do not want it. I also know that even a beggar Feels hesitant to ignore. I will no longer be the cause of your hesitation. I am leaving, if you want Celebrate with a feast in this happiness! What I feel is— One day if you are at home, Suddenly from the mosque's microphone You will hear, I have gone to the other side! That day perhaps you will feel a bit of pain Or you will dance in joy with a cheerful heart!
