কেন এমন হচ্ছে,কাইফ? কখনো এক সেকেন্ড যেতে যুগ পার হয়ে যায়; আবার কখনো চোখের পলকে যুগ পার হয়ে যায়! তার কাছ থেকে দূরে থাকলে,তাকে দেখার জন্য ব্যাকুল হই আর তার কাছে থাকলে কথা বলতে ইচ্ছে করে না! হয়তো আমি অঝোর কান্নায় মেতে উঠতে পারি তবে আমার অশ্রুর কোনো মূল্য নেই,কাইফ! আমি তার সমালোচনা ৫০০ লাইনে লিখতে গিয়েছিলাম তবে তার মাঝে ৪৯৯ লাইন প্রশংসা হয়ে গেছে! আর ১ লাইনে কিছু অভিযোগ আছে, বান্দা যেমন খোদার বিরুদ্ধে অভিযোগ করে, তা সে খোদাদ্রোহী হয়ে করে না বরং আবেগের বশে করে। আমি ও তো মানুষ,আমারও আবেগ আছে। প্রতিটা আলোচনায় তাকে নিয়ে কথা উঠলেই, আমার মুখ থেকে প্রশংসা বেরিয়ে আসতে চায়। তবে আমি তা আটকে রাখি, যেভাবে ক্রুদ্ধ ব্যক্তি নিজেকে নিয়ন্ত্রণ করে সেভাবে! আমি যে নীলকন্ঠ তার কাছে; আমার প্রশংসাও নাকি বিষের মতো লাগে! বীর্যপাতের পর উত্তেজনামূলক কথা যেমন বিরক্তিকর লাগে তেমন! কখনো বা খোদার কাছে ফরিয়াদ করি, এ কেমন মেহবুব আমার,চাটুকার আর দাসের মাঝে পার্থক্য বোঝে না। মানুষ আমাকে পাগল বলে, তবে মানুষের এ উপহাস আমার কাছে মধুর চেয়েও উত্তম! আমি প্রতিদিন ঘর থেকে বের হই পাগল ডাক শোনার জন্য; মানুষ তো এ ব্যাপারে অবগত নেই,যে তার জন্য আমি পাগল। আমার কবিতা পড়ে লোকে মুগ্ধ হয় না। পাগলের প্রলাপ শুনে কেই বা মুগ্ধ হয়! কাইফ,সে কি বোঝে না আমি তাকে চাই, তার সাথে কথা বলতে চাই, তবে সে অনুমতি দেয় না কেন? কাইফ,এখনো কটা দিন বাকি আছে আসো যেকোনো মূল্যে তার আপন হয়ে যাই, যদিও বা তা এখন মুশকিল লাগছে কিছুদিন পরে তো অসম্ভব হয়ে যাবে!প

Translation (English)

Why is this happening, Kaif? Sometimes a second feels like a long time; And sometimes a long time passes in the blink of an eye! When I'm away from her, I really want to see her But when I'm near her, I don't feel like talking! Maybe I could cry without stopping But my tears don't matter, Kaif! I tried to write 500 lines criticizing her But 499 lines turned into praise! And in 1 line, there are some complaints, Like a servant complains to God, Not because they rebel But because they feel deeply. I am human too, I have feelings. Whenever she is mentioned in any talk, I want to praise her. But I hold it back, Like an angry person controls themselves! I am like a Neelkanth to her; Even my praise feels like poison to her! After ejaculation, exciting words Feel as annoying as that! Sometimes I complain to God, What kind of beloved is this, who can't tell the difference between a flatterer and a slave. People call me crazy, But this teasing is sweeter than honey to me! I go out every day to hear people call me mad; People don't know that I am mad for her. People are not impressed by my poetry. Who is impressed by a madman's ramblings! Kaif, doesn't she understand I want her, I want to talk to her, But why doesn't she allow it? Kaif, there are still a few days left Let's become hers at any cost, Though it seems hard now Soon it will become impossible!
