কবির কলম মিথ্যা বলে এই তো নিয়ম দুনিয়ায়, আমিও মিথ্যাবাদী তোমার নিত্য প্রশংসায়! লেবাননের ঘ্রাণ থেকে তোমার ঘ্রাণ ভালো নয়, তবুও লিখেছি তা ভ্রান্ত মনের প্ররোচনায়! এ জগতে তোমার প্রতি প্রেম জাগে নি মোর কভু, এ বড় মিথ্যা বিশ্বাস করো না হে প্রভু! কবি বড় মিথ্যাবাদী কত মিথ্যা বলে সে, পাগল উন্মাদ হয় মিথ্যার মিথ্যা যাদুবশে! কবির মিথ্যা গুরুতর যা বলে নেশার ঘোরে, প্রেয়সী নাকি ডাকতে আসে কবির কবরে!

Translation (English)

The poet's pen tells lies, that's how it works in this world, I am also a liar when I constantly praise you! Your smell isn't better than Lebanon's fragrance, Yet I wrote it under the influence of a confused mind! In this world, I never felt love for you, This is a big lie, don't believe it, dear Lord! The poet is a big liar, he tells so many lies, Madness happens under the magic of lies! The poet's lies are serious, spoken in a daze, The beloved supposedly comes to call the poet to the grave!
