মধ্যরাতে যখন দুনিয়া ঘুমে মগ্ন, আমার চোখে ঘুম আসে আবার চলে যায়! তার আত্না চুরির প্রয়াসে লিপ্ত থাকি যদিও তা সম্ভব হয়ে ওঠে না। সেও বারবার হিজরের সময় বাড়ায়, আমি মুখ ফুটে কিছু বলি না তখন। তবে কালরাতে এক অজানা দূত এসেছিল আমাকে এক আশাময়ী বার্তা দিয়ে গেছে। আমি সেই আশায় যেন অমৃত প্রাপ্ত হয়েছি! ভাবি,তার মনের সমুদ্র মন্থন কবে হবে? স্বেচ্ছায় বিষপানে নীলকন্ঠ হবো। দূত বলে আর বেশি দেরি নেই, অপেক্ষা করো এই মধুক্ষন এলো বলে। তোমার মীরাবাঈ হয়ে থাকার দিন শেষ, এবার রাধিকা হবে,বৃন্দাবন যাবে! সে যে শ্যাম রূপে তোমার অপেক্ষা করছে। আমি আহ্লাদে আটখানা হয়ে গেলাম। আবার ভয় হয়,এ মিথ্যা নয় তো? হয় তো আমার এই দুরবস্থা দেখে মজা নিতে এসেছিলো! আশাই মানুষকে বাঁচিয়ে রাখে, তাই বেঁচে আছি আমিও!

Translation (English)

In the middle of the night when the world is asleep, Sleep comes to my eyes and then leaves again! I try to steal her soul But it never becomes possible. She repeatedly extends the time of separation, I do not say anything then. But last night an unknown messenger came And gave me a hopeful message. In that hope, I feel as if I have received nectar! I wonder, when will the churning of her mind's ocean happen? I will willingly drink poison and become Neelkanth. The messenger says there is not much delay, Wait, this sweet moment is coming. Your days of being Mirabai are over, Now you will become Radha and go to Vrindavan! He is waiting for you in the form of Shyam. I became overwhelmed with joy. Again I fear, is this not a lie? Perhaps he came to enjoy seeing my misery! Hope keeps people alive, So I am alive too!
