তুমি আমায় শাস্তি দিতে খুব ভালো পারো! এ ব্যাপারে তুমি অন্তহীন প্রশংসার দাবিদার। অমিক,এই কাইফ এখনো বেঁচে আছে, তোমার চক্রকুন্ডলী তাকে এখনো পুরোপুরি গ্রাস করতে পারে নি। তবে তুমি আমাকে ক্রমাগত শাস্তি দিয়েই যাচ্ছো। আমি জন এলিয়া হতে গিয়েছিলাম ভালো কবি হওয়ার লোভে! আর তুমি যে ফারিহা হয়ে যাবে তা তো আগে ভেবে দেখি নি। আমি তাহযীব হাফি হতে গিয়েছিলাম আর তুমি মারিয়াম হয়ে গেলে! কেন বলো?তোমার বোধ হয় আমাকে শাস্তি দিয়ে সঞ্জীবনী অমৃত লাভ করতে হয়!

Translation (English)
