অই দেখ দূর পন্থা দিয়া এক পান্থ হেটে যায়, সেই ছিলো মোর প্রেমের প্রাপক দেখবি যদি আয়। তার তরেই লিখতাম সব পদ্য প্রশংসার গান, আমার বুকে থাকবে চিরকাল সে গো হয়ে অম্লান। তোরা যদি দেখতি তারে রূপসাগরের পাড়ে, হায় তার কথাই বলতো আমার সকল জড়ে। আকাশ আমার স্পষ্ট নীল যমীন খুব উর্বর, হঠাৎ কি যে হলো গো হায় নামল বিষের ঝড়। জগত যেন পালটে গেলো এক মূহুর্তের মাঝে, জীবন যেন বিধবা হলো সাজলো সাদা সাজে। আমিও ছিলাম পাগল আর সেও ছিলো তাই, পাগলা ভালো বাসতাম তারে সে যে হীরক-রূপাই। হঠাৎ তার মস্তকে কি বদল এসে গেলো হায়, ভুলে গেছে আমায় সে মাথার বোধ ফিরায়। তবু মনে পড়লে ফের আবার ডাক দিয়ো গো আমায়, আসতেও পারি ফিরে আবার তোমার জীবন নীলিমায়।

Translation (English)

Look there, along the far path A traveler is walking, He was the one I loved If you come, you will see. I wrote everything for him Poems of admiration, He will stay in my heart forever Unfading. If you saw him By the sea of beauty, Alas, you would talk about him In all my veins. My sky is clear blue The earth is very fertile, Suddenly, what happened, oh alas A storm of poison came down. The world seemed to change In a moment, Life seemed to become a widow Dressed in white. I was crazy, and So was he, I loved him madly He was like a diamond. Suddenly, what change Came to his mind, alas, He forgot me As his senses returned. Yet if you remember again Call me, I might come back again Into the blue of your life.
